COLD BUTTER FOR BAKING; All fun and games until someone gets too hot?? Is this really the case?

So what are the rules to using ‘cold butter’ in certain recipes and why should even listen to any of them?

Well, although this may seem to be a fairly loaded question, the answer is quite simple, the one rule is that the butter should be cold and the reason we don’t break that rule in the following recipes is that kitchen life just won’t be worth living if that rule is broken. I.e working with warm butter for a recipe which calls for cold butter brings a level of stress which I have personally seen break many people.

We follow some rules because it’s frankly too stressful to deal with the consequences of not doing so.
